I am a life long Alaskan who has loved the outdoors since childhood. I grew up outside riding my horses wherever they would take me. I would build forts and make shift corrals and wander all day. As I’ve gotten older, the outdoors is still my home. Riding horses, fishing, hunting, paddle boarding, kayaking, camping, and my favorite and why you are here, hiking!!! I have been an avid hiker in Alaska for many years. I have hiked in the US as well as Ireland, England and Mexico. My passion is to share my knowledge and love of hiking, camping and climbing mountains in Alaska with others. I sincerely hope you enjoy your visit to my page and consider booking a hike with me, the Alaskan Mountain Gypsy.
I honestly couldn’t say! Being outdoors is literally in my DNA. Most of my childhood was spent in the outdoors. Taking care of horses, pigs, goats, rabbits, ducks and dogs! My family had a very primitive cabin at Lake Louise and I spent a lot of time there. The first time I climbed/hiked, was when I was in junior high. It was the Butte in Palmer, Alaska, my home town. It’s a very popular hike and although not a big elevation gain, the view is absolutely spectacular. Hiking up-to 15 miles whether mostly flat ground or a wonderful mountain like Pioneer Peak, I have discovered hikes for every level from beginner to avid outdoorsman. I have climbed most peaks between Palmer and Seward and I can’t wait to share that space with you!
My favorite hikes are all of them!!!
Just to name a few. I have a hike for any level from never hiked before to avid hiker from mostly flat hikes to insane inclines. I can get you to your destination having a complete blast along the way.
